Special Study Programs:
Our center is a praticipant in the state funded Child and Adult Care Food Program, therefore, our menus are required to represent the CACFP credible meals. This is to ensure that our students are being provided foods that are whole and with nutritional value. We will accommodate special diets for children with medical needs and religious preference whenever possible. Upon enrollment, parent/guardians will complete the special health concerns part of the registration form to inform the center of this need. In compliance with the ODJFS rules, we are a cooking center, therefore, parents are not able to pack nor should bring in food for their child unless preapproved by the Director.
Introduction/Description:
The LABC Child Nurturing Center is a Christian day care center located in and owned by the Lane Avenue Baptist Church which is located across from the Lane Avenue Shopping Center with immediate access to Route 315. Child care is provided for all of the Columbus and surrounding areas, especially Grandview and Upper Arlington. Care is provided for children eighteen months through elementary school age. We provide full and part time care for children under five years of age year round. In addition, we provide before and after school hours care for school age children at Tremont and St. Agatha Elementary Schools. We also host a kindergarten program which cares for a student the portion of the day he/she is not attending school. School Days off care and summer care are also offered.

Childcare Philosophy:
♥ We believe that each child is a unique creation of God and, therefore, should be given nurturing and respectful care.
♥ We believe that each child’s parent/guardian is his/her best care provider and teacher. However, we believe that in the absence of the parent/guardian during the work or school day, the child should be provided a safe, warm and loving environment where like Jesus, he/she can develop physically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. Each day should provide:
> Physical activities to develop large and small motor skills
> Support in sharing, taking turns, and learning to cooperate with other children and adults
> Adult support in recognizing, controlling, and expressing emotions appropriately
> Opportunities for spiritual development through Bible stories, music and prayer at mealtime.
♥ We believe that the Director and teachers should love children and have each child’s safety and total well being as the core of all the planned activities. The adults should be role models in all activities throughout the day. They should provide loving, respectful, and consistent discipline.
♥ We believe in the principle:
Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.
